High Contrast Blue Blotter FAQ

blue blotter

Why Blue Blotter?

The High-Contrast Blue Blotter Germination Pouch was specifically designed for computer generated digital imaging that requires a greater level of contrast.

What are the dimensions of the pouches?

The pouch is 14 inches high (36 cm) by 6 1/2 inches wide (16.5 cm).

Which stand is recommended for use with these pouches?

We recommend the use of the  Bamboo Stand for the HC Blue Blotter Pouches.  Each stand has 9 slots and you can put 2-3 pouches per slot.

Why not use the traditional CYG Germination Pouch?

Because of its light brown color, the CYG Germination Pouch does not provide the intense contrast required for digital imaging. The light color of the roots and the low contrasting paper of the CYG Pouch do not provide a suitable background for computer-generated pictures.

Other than the color, are there any other differences between the CYG and the HC Blue Blotter Germination Pouch?

Yes. The paper used to manufacture the High-Contrast Blue Blotter Germination Pouch is thicker and heavier.

Should I do something different when using the High-Contrast Blue Blotter Germination Pouch?

Yes. Because of its thickness, the initial amount of water needed will be 25 to 30 ml. and the wick will require refilling more often than the CYG Pouch.

Are there any other differences?

No. The same principles and recommendations that apply for the CYG Germination Pouch also apply for the High-Contrast Blue Blotter Germination Pouch. For more information, please visit the FAQ section for the CYG Germination Pouch.
